Developed in 1960 Lasers in medicine and surgery have
become powerful and indispensible tools in clinical practice. There are
many medical laser systems available today. Medical lasers differ by providing
specific amounts of laser energy to only the desired targeted tissue while
harming nothing else.
A laser surgeon must determine the proper wavelenght
of laser light for the specific tissue. Some lasers can deliver two wavelengths
of light, some are tuneable and others can be used in defferent modes,
for example, the Q-Switched or the Long Pulse.
